Accelerated Master of Science in Chemistry

Through the accelerated bachelor’s to master’s degree program, you can earn credit hours toward a master’s degree from Western Michigan University.

How It Works

Aquinas College students may be able to transfer six undergraduate credits (non-entry level) from 91³Ô¹Ï toward the WMU Master of Arts (MA) in Chemistry degree. 

Additionally, 91³Ô¹Ï students may also be able to transfer three more undergraduate credits by examination based on advanced level course work at 91³Ô¹Ï towards WMU MA degree. Combined, students may acquire a maximum of nine credits that can be applied toward a master's degree from Western Michigan University.

Students applying to this program are eligible for a WMU application fee and GRE waiver.

1) Six credits can be transferred to WMU from 91³Ô¹Ï with the successful completion of any combination of the following courses with a grade of B or better from 91³Ô¹Ï:

  • CHEM 330 Instrumental Methods of Analysis
  • CHEM 321 Advanced Organic Chemistry
  • CHEM 322 Advanced Inorganic Chemistry

2) Credit by examination: a maximum of three credit hours based on the evaluation of the final writing projects for CHEM 401 Chemistry Project Development / CHEM 402 Chemistry Practicum may be applied toward a master's degree at WMU. WMU Department of Chemistry Faculty will determine the basis for evaluation and the awarding of credit.
